Monday 27th February
Blog Session:
Just blogged for the lesson.
Tuesday 28th February
- This was the day that we finally performed the Silent Movies that we had been practising recently and before the half term. We spent the majority of the time before the performance watching and practising our pieces to fully make use of the time and prepare ourselves for the later performance.
- Before the performance we had to do some audience interaction activities which included a guessing game, a dance routine and asking about stolen goods. The activities went well even though the audience was somewhat reluctant to participate.
Wednesday (No Lesson)
Thursday 2nd March
Acting Lesson:
- In this lesson we further went through what we would be doing in our new #immigrants project. After reading through the assignment brief we then moved onto doing a small vocal and bodily warm-up including various different exercises.
- After this we then were given a sheet that we would have to read then later create small improvised pieces for. My group and I decided to go with the setting of Alexa (the Romanian girl on the sheet) getting rejected form the Bank and then also form the GP's receptionist.
- The scene begins with Alexa walking into the bank and 2 members of the public making racist comments about her nationality behind her back, the Bank Manager then calls in Alexa which angers the 2 British citizens which further causes the slander of immigration. When Alexa goes into the room the Manager asks her some questions, for example her Name, Age and Nationality which then causes the manager to deny her due to the fact that she comes from Romania, she then reluctantly leaves the Bank then whilst passing by one of the men that was sitting on the chairs, he makes a snide remark about her going back to where she came from. This is where this scene ends.
Friday 3rd March
Blog Session:
- In this lesson we worked more on our blogs as usual.
Acting Lesson:
- In this lesson we sat down in a circle and individually called out distinctive foods from different countries in the world, for example from England we chose Fish and Chips and from Spain we chose Paella. We also whilst still in he circle spoke about any family immigration stories that we could use and apply to our production to give it a more realistic and easy to relate to. This would then mean that the show itself would be more interesting as it would've been directed based on true life events.
